LEGAL REGULATION OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN RUSSIA: CURRENT STATE AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS

The article analyzes current issues in the legal regulation of religious education in the Russian Federation. It identifies gaps and contradictions in current legislation and suggests ways to address them. Special attention is paid to the differentiation between religious and secular educational programs implemented by religious educational organizations. The article substantiates the need to develop clear criteria for distinguishing between these types of educational activities. The historical experience of regulating religious education in the Russian Empire, as well as contemporary foreign practices, are analyzed.
