Problems of bilingualism in a modern society

The article deals with the problem of bilingualism and its relevance in modern society, reveals the essence of the mechanism of bilingualism and defines the concepts of bilingualism and bilingual. The authors argue the importance of teaching a foreign language on a bilingual basis, since it contributes to the improvement of general language training and knowledge of a foreign language for specific subject purposes, deepens the subject training and expands the scope of intercultural learning, as well as increases motivation in learning of a foreign language.
