This article is devoted to the problems of combating the main weeds of corn crops for grain in conditions of sod-podzolic soils of the Kaliningrad region. The determination of the specific composition of weed grasses on sod-podzolic soils used for maize sowing allows us to make the right choice of the mechanical treatment of crops or the introduction of herbicides. Correctly drawn up a schedule of works will make it possible to achieve the maximum and timely destruction of weed plants, which will make it possible to increase the yield of corn for grain by using information on the types of weeds.
