EFFECTIVENESS OF ROTARY THROMBO-ATHERECTOMY WITH JETSTREAM+ DEVICE IN THE TREATMENT OF ACUTE LOWER LIMB ISCHEMIA: OUR CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

Introduction. Acute arterial ischemia of the lower extremities is an urgent public health problem that is widespread among patients worldwide. Methods. In this article, we present the case of a 72-year-old patient with acute lower limb ischemia with a history of stage III chronic ischemia, coronary heart disease, and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Angiography of the lower extremities revealed occlusion of the distal third of the superficial femoral artery on the right. Taking into account all the factors, it was decided to perform a rotational thrombo-atherectomy using a Jetstream device, as well as subsequent angioplasty with a drug-coated balloon catheter. Results. The use of an integrated treatment approach, including minimally invasive surgery, optimal conservative therapy and lifestyle changes, significantly improved the patient's quality of life and preserved the lower limb without negative consequences for her health. Conclusion. The effectiveness of Jetstream endovascular rotational thrombo-atherectomy in combination with an integrated approach to the treatment of acute lower limb ischemia confirms the importance of early diagnosis and interventional intervention to prevent serious complications.
