Interrelation of Multicultural Sensitivity and Styles of Modern Global Conflict Management in Multicultural Business Communication

The subject of the study is the relationship between intercultural sensitivity and the styles of modern conflict management. The object of the study is the concept of intercultural sensitivity as a component of intercultural competence. Applying the retrospective and comparative analysis to the studies of leading foreign authors, the author examines the mutual influence of intercultural sensitivity and known strategies of business conflict management. Synthesizing the findings, the author explores the interpretation of the concepts of intercultural sensitivity, intercultural awareness and intercultural competence. The main conclusion of the study is the fact that communicators with high intercultural sensitivity are more effective in intercultural interaction, including business. The author also concludes that such communicants are able to choose an adequate strategy in overcoming intercultural differences and resolving conflicts.
