The articles examines the current trends in the development of historical and cultural tourism, unusual museums and areas of film, animation, anime, street art tourism. International experience and prospects of implementation in Russia are analyzed. One of the modern trends in international tourism is the "economy of impressions" - a principle in which great importance is given to the emotions that a tourist experiences during his trip. Tendencies of excursion service at the present stage are considered.
