The purpose of the fragment of the study was to analyze the economic accessibility for residents of the Republic of Dagestan drugs used in diseases of the joints and related to chondroprotectors. The paper uses the methods of content analysis, structural analysis, comparison, combined ABC-XYZ-analysis of pharmacy sales of chondroprotectors, retail price monitoring with the calculation of the individual price index and the coefficients of the adequacy of solvency. It is established that chondroprotectors are presented both by the Russian production, and medicines of foreign production. AX-AY and BX-BY group pharmaceuticals, as well as AZ, which influence sales facilities in case of unstable demand, are characterized by a significant contribution to sales and stable demand. With the help of the program complex "1C-warehouse" it was established that 16 drugs and C – 11 drugs were included into AB group. Of 53.22% of sales volume ensured injectable form, with 64.6 per cent of them account for injection of Russian drugs. The share of oral drugs was 40.0%, and external forms accounted for about 7.0% of sales. Monitoring of average retail prices for chondroprotectors from 2016 to 2017. showed that during the study period, the increase in prices was observed in 93.3% of medicines: for domestic LP they increased by 15.6%, for imported – by 18.1%. The calculation of the solvency adequacy ratio showed a clear economic advantage of the Russian LP from 3 to 6 times. At the same time, imported LP makes a greater contribution to sales. The measure of affordability for low-income segments of the population showed a negative trend of its decrease below the thresholds and of 50.0% of the LP have a lower individual availability the overall availability of drugs for the population of Dagestan. This indirectly indicates that the growth of the minimum and average wages in the Republic of Dagestan can not cover the growth of living standards and rising prices for chondroprotectors, among which no drug was not included in the regulated lists, so the population and acquires drugs of this group for their own means.
