Analisys and assessment of sustainable development level for the Arctic countries

The sustainable development achieving is one of the most important tasks of the development of the Arctic. The assessment of the progress achieved in the field of ensuring sustainable development is carried out using various indicators. The paper considers the most frequently used approaches in international practice to assess the level of sustainable development of territorial socio-economic systems. The main goal of the study is creating an approach for sustainable development level assessment in Arctic countries and forming of a corresponding rating. In the process of developing an integral indicator, indicators were defined that characterize sustainable development in three areas: social, economic and environmental, an integral indicator of sustainable development has been developed and calculated based on fuzzy-sets theory, to assess the level of the countries of the Arctic region. As a result, the rating of the countries of the Arctic region was compiled.
