Problems of the formation crowdfunding theoretical basics

Becoming a new financial instrument in Russia, crowdfunding has been a hot topic in recent years, as this phenomenon has recently got into the legal field. Appearing in the form of raising funds for charity and developing to attract investments in exchange for a share in the business, crowdfunding has become a significant sector of the financial market in Russia. There is no theoretical basis that would describe the fundamentals of the phenomenon functioning. Therefore, it is important to draw the attention of researchers to this problem. One of the complex issues of the theory is determining the concept of crowdfunding due to the presence of many definitions that ambiguously describe the phenomenon. The permanent updating of concepts by the Bank of Russia creates barriers in the interpretation of crowdfunding in the scientific community. In fact, the theoretical and legislative view of this concept has its own peculiarities. This article is devoted to defining the concept of crowdfunding, establishing the classification and principles of its functioning, as well as identifying the causes of vague interpretations of the term "crowdfunding" in Russia.
