European experience in territorial development management: mechanisms for improving regional connectivity

The article discusses various aspects of managing the connectivity of economic space at the national level. The relevance of the study is due to the need to improve the socio-economic policy of spatial development management, in which connectivity is a key element. The study highlights the features of foreign experience in the construction and development of territorial systems, in particular, integration and fragmentation. The approaches of managing the territorial development of the European Union were investigated, which are of particular interest for adaptation in Russia. The authors concluded that an increase in the efficiency of spatial development management can be achieved by adopting world experience through the following mechanisms: the synergistic effect of territorial processes of border areas, a political approach, increased transport accessibility, increased interaction of economic agents on spatial planning issues, the development of instruments of international connectivity.
