Mediation as a way to resolve legal conflicts: state, development prospects in modern conditions

In this article, the authors analyze the legal basis for the regulation of mediation, the prospects for the development of this institution in modern Russian society. The authors note the high importance of the mediation procedure in the settlement of disputes and conflicts, but at the same time point out the low level of its use, reveal the reasons for the unpopularity of mediation. The authors emphasize the need for systematic awareness-raising work in order to form a clear understanding of what this conflict resolution procedure means, and on this basis to create a mechanism for trusting the mediation procedure, to make it more popular and effective.
