The relevance of the international legal definition of «Celestial body»

The article considers the peculiarities of the definition of "celestial body" in international space law. The author analyzes the approaches to the problem of interpreting the concept of "celestial body" in the context of the principle of prohibition of appropriation of the moon and other celestial bodies. The issue of appropriation of resources of celestial bodies is considered. Also, the article identifies the main differences between the concepts of "celestial body" and "object launched into outer space". The author highlights the current approaches of both domestic and foreign doctrine, according to which the content of "celestial body" is defined today.
