To the question of the legalization of euthanasia in the Russian federation and its solution based on the experience of foreign countries

The presented article raises the issue of legalizing euthanasia in our country, which is quite controversial and debatable. To resolve it, the author turns to foreign experience, as some countries of the world have legalized euthanasia and exercise the right of citizens to manage their lives. At the same time, in Russia there are both opponents and supporters of euthanasia, and each of them gives quite weighty arguments in support of his position. Indeed, the legalization of this procedure is associated with advantages and disadvantages, but it is very difficult to come to a single conclusion about the possibility of its legalization. The author comes to the conclusion that the main risk of legalizing euthanasia is the possible abuse by relatives and doctors. Against this background, foreign experience, which is of a certain research interest, does not allow us to come to an unambiguous conclusion about whether it is worth legalizing euthanasia in Russia. As a result, this issue is subject to further study and reflection, and for this it is necessary to involve such actors as doctors, lawyers, citizens and representatives of the RIC.
