this article reveals various approaches to the concept of the principle of real fulfillment of a contractual obligation in the doctrine of the Soviet period. The positions of legal scholars on this issue are given, and judgments are evaluated. The author also compares the principle of real performance of a contractual obligation and the principle of proper performance of a contractual obligation, expresses his own opinion on this issue. In addition, based on the study of opposing concepts, an attempt is made to form one's own position.
