LEGAL STATUS OF A SHIP CAPTAIN AND A SHIP OWNER IN THE OPERATION OF AUTONOMOUS VESSELS: FAULTS IN LEGAL REGULATION

The article analyzes the regulatory legal acts regulating the operation of autonomous ships in the Russian Federation and the draft federal law No. 48133-8 «On Amendments to the Merchant Shipping Code of the Russian Federation and certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation». The authors investigate the problematic issues related to the establishment of the rights, duties and responsibilities of the captain of an autonomous vessel and the shipowner, as well as their relationship with other participants in the operation of autonomous vessels.
