THE ROLE OF THE HEAD OF THE ORGANIZATION IN FORMING A MANAGEMENT CULTURE

The article examines the processes of forming a management culture in organizations, its key elements reflected in the perceptions and assessments of employees of Russian companies. When working on the material, the results of intelligence research (in-depth interviews) are used. The results of the study illustrate the blurred contours of perception of the concept of “management culture” in the assessments of employees of Russian companies. However, when analyzing its key characteristics, respondents mostly appeal to the concepts of “values”, “moral qualities”, “norms of behavior”, “established traditions”, “corporate rules”. The study identified key elements of management culture, which, according to respondents, most reflect its organizational specificity. The results of the study illustrate the dominant role of the manager in shaping the management culture. According to respondents, this role is most clearly manifested in the personnel selection process, where the manager acts in accordance with his ideas about the required standards of behavior, weighing not only the professional, but also the moral qualities of the employee with his own system of values and priorities.
