ESG TRANSFORMATION OF OIL AND GAS ENTERPRISES AS A FACTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC STABILITY

This article examines the current trends in ESG transformation of Russian oil and gas companies within the context of global sustainable development initiatives. A comprehensive analysis of the methodologies used by leading ESG rating agencies (RAEX-Europe, MSCI, CDP, Expert RA) and the assessment results for Russian oil and gas enterprises has been conducted. Significant differentiation among companies in terms of ESG integration levels has been identified, with PJSC «LUKOIL» recognized as a leader in sustainable development. Key problem areas in the ESG transformation of the industry have been identified, including insufficient effectiveness of ESG risk management systems and limited compliance with international reporting standards. Recommendations for improving ESG practices of Russian oil and gas companies in the context of the global transition to a low-carbon economy are presented.
