FRONTIER MODERNIZATION: PARADOXES OF THE ADYGHE SPECIFICS

The author examines the formation and development of statehood in the territory of Adygea in the period of the 19th-21st centuries and the regulation by legal documents of the position of the dominant ethnic groups: Russians and Adygs and their attitudes towards national minorities in order to study the situation of national minorities, respect for their rights and counteract discrimination based on ethnicity. The following methods were used: statistical analysis, included observation, interviews, historical comparison, content analysis of scientific papers and publications in the media.
