THE ROLE OF INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS IN IMPROVING THE MECHANISMS FOR REGULATING THE COMPETITION OF DIGITAL PLATFORMS

The research is devoted to the analysis of the role of international organizations in improving the mechanisms of competition regulation of digital platforms, which are actively transforming global economic processes. Digital platforms, using innovative strategies, create new sales channels and change traditional business models, which causes difficulties for regulators. In this paper we applied the methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization and comparison, as well as studied legislative initiatives of different countries and practices of digital economy regulation. As a result of the analysis, effective approaches to assessing market dominance and regulating competition in the sphere of digital platforms were proposed. The main conclusions are the need to revise traditional regulatory methods, strengthen preventive measures, redistribute responsibilities between platforms and regulators, and strengthen international cooperation. The results of the study may be useful for national and international regulators, as well as for scholars of digital economy and competition law. Further improvement of the regulatory framework and competition policy instruments is required to ensure sustainable development of the digital economy.
