INSTITUTE OF THE FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND FOREIGN COUNTRIES: HISTORY, COMPARISON, DEVELOPMENT

The article reveals the concept of a financial ombudsman, the history of the institution, and compares the institution of a financial ombudsman in the Russian Federation and in other countries such as Sweden, Denmark, and the CIS countries. In addition, the article provides a step-by-step procedure for the work of the financial ombudsman’s service. Also, it was carried out the analysis of statistics on the reviewed appeals by the Financial Ombudsman service for 2022-2023. This article reveals certain aspects of the specifics of the work routine of the financial ombudsman, including aspects related to the development of his activities. The paper provides examples of long-term projects that are being developed through the Financial Commissioner's office in the Russian Federation, which help to the citizens to improve their financial literacy and avoid the consequences of the financial disputes.
