The article is devoted to highlighting key issues related to the risk-oriented approach as a tool for improving the efficiency of its functioning on the process of transformation and development of the state control institution in modern socio-economic conditions. The article analyzes the theoretical foundations of the risk-oriented approach, the prerequisites for the transition from the exhausted model of continuous inspections of a huge list of control entities to the model of concentrating control and supervisory activities on that part of them that relate to organizations with a high risk of deviation from the requirements imposed on them. The article analyzes the regulatory documents governing the new provisions for the phased implementation of this approach, the problems that arise during the implementation and the ways to resolve them.
