An analysis of the current criminal situation in Russia demonstrates that the use of information and telecommunication technologies is becoming an increasingly common tool for carrying out criminal intentions. This dynamic confirms the relevance of the study of the determinants that determine the commission of fraud using the Internet. In this article, the author examines the causes and conditions that contribute to fraud using the Internet. The author summarizes that only a clear understanding of the causes and conditions of fraud using the Internet will make it possible to develop an effective system for preventing this crime.
