With the ongoing digitalization of financial markets and the rapidly changing payment market, central banks are stepping up their efforts to research central bank digital currency (CBDC). Currently, the world is researching and testing CBDC, and it is important for central banks to pay attention to potential risks and threats. The pace of CBDC development exists all over the world. The article describes the global experience of developing a central bank digital currency, reflects the main theses of using CBDC in national payment states, as well as the reasons for making decisions in the field of CBDC.
