The article examines the effect of sanctions on foreign investment into the Russian Federation during the period 2022-2024 under increasing pressure from sanctions.
Foreign investment is a key catalyst for economic growth and technological modernization in a host country. It drives job creation and helps integrate national economic systems into the global economy. However, sanctions make the behavior of foreign investors undergo significant changes by severely restricting traditional capital flow channels and undermining national investment climate.
Through the analysis of the Bank of Russia's statistical data from the Russian Federation's balance of payments, changes in the structure and dynamics of foreign direct, portfolio, and other investment were reviewed. The study also identifies the key factors that influenced the investment activity of non-resident investors during the specified period.
