Microbial biofilms and their implications for human

The study of biofilms currently attracts great attention of researchers, mainly due to the fact that this mode of existence of bacteria creates serious problems in the environment and medicine. The ability of bacteria to form biofilms is currently considered as a factor of their pathogenicity. Biofilms can be formed on various organs and tissues in humans and animals. Biofilms bring harm not only to microorganisms, but also cause great difficulties in industry, medicine, etc. Therefore, this article describes the main features of microbial biofilms and their impact on the environment and human health.
