The article deals with topical issues related to one of the areas of intelligent systems – multi-agent systems. The concept of "multi-agent systems" is revealed, and their difference from systems with "rigid" logic is emphasized. Outlines the main areas of application of multi-agent systems. Their classification by degree of order is given. The problem of optimal distribution of roles within a multi-agent system is formulated and solved.
