The role of values of the admissors and their parents in the formation of administrative decisions in the system of higher education of the Russian Federation

The conditions in which the higher education system of the Russian Federation develops is characterized by a number of features, including a clear downward trend in the number of applicants, traced in the dynamics of recent years. Under such circumstances, the place of the university in the strategic development plan largely depends on the management decisions that will be made and implemented in the near future. Formation and implementation of decisions are closely related to the interests of key stakeholders, including applicants and parents of applicants. The interests of the designated stakeholders are significantly affected by the generational aspect. We have conducted a sociological study aimed at identifying the role of the value orientations of applicants and their parents in the formation of management decisions in the system of higher education of the Russian Federation. The study was carried out within the framework of the state assignment of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. 26.940.2017 / PC, the project “Management of changes in the higher education system based on the concept of sustainable development and coordination of interests”.
