The article discusses the use of the image recognition algorithm by the method of brightness histograms for solving the problem of detecting the movement of objects at unregulated pedestrian crossings. The use of the method of brightness histograms, combining in itself a method of pattern recognition and cascading classification of objects, is justified. It is shown that the developed algorithm and the program can be used to simulate and study object recognition problems in a traffic flow.
