Actinomycosis is a chronic infectious disease of a person, which is caused by radiant fungi of the genus actinomycetes. The main difference between actinomycetes and other microorganisms is the ability to form a well-developed mycelium. The microorganism isolated from the foci of actinomycotic lesions in humans belong to the resident or transient congenital microflora of the mucous membranes.
