Clinical significance of traumatic brain injury in the Republic of Yemen

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is the most common cause of long-term disability and mortality among young people and is a global socio-economic health problem. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical features of traumatic brain injuries in the different age patient’s groups. We analyzed the medical records of 9670 TBI patients of the specialized departments in Republic of Yemen from 2009 to 2018. The clinical features of traumatic brain injury in our group of patients were brain contusion high frequency (87.8%), and number of combined injuries of the skull and other body systems (2.6%), which is a consequence of frequent cars accidents in our country.
