Numerical modeling of heat transfer in the lubricant layer

The problem of heat transfer in the lubricant layer of a sliding bearings at moderate Reynolds numbers is investigated. The main flow was calculated using the complete system of Navier-Stokes equations. The temperature distribution in the flow was determined from the heat balance equation taking into account the calculated velocity field. A significant inhomogeneity of the temperature field is shown.
