On the problems of treatment of disseminated purulent peritonitis

Disseminated purulent peritonitis (DPP) is still one of the most urgent problems of surgery. A variable predictor of an unfavorable prognosis for DPP remains a delay in reoperation with the development of abdominal sepsis. In this regard, the need for the scientific surgical community to overcome the persistent disproportion between the criteria for a local or systemic form of inflammation and the need for programmed step-by-step control over the source of DPP, implemented on the basis of new methods of active influence on the inflammatory process, allows us to count on improving the results of this category of patients.
