Personalized antiplatelet therapy for coronary artery stenting

Coronary stenting is a common and effective treatment for patients with ischemic heart disease. However, stent thrombosis and bleeding are dangerous complications of coronary artery stenting. Dual antiplatelet therapy can prevent complications before and long after stenting. Nevertheless, laboratory data show that it is not effective in all patients. The purpose of this review is to describe the current understanding and research results of personalized dual antiplatelet therapy.
