The term "remodeling of the heart" was originally proposed to denote structural, geometric and functional changes of the LV that develop after a myocardial infarction (MI), including the formation of cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, dilation of the heart cavities, a change in the geometric shape of the LV, which leads to a violation of systolic and diastolic ventricular function. Subsequently, this term began to be used to denote the corresponding LV changes in other heart diseases accompanied by hemodynamic overload or primary damage to the heart muscle (chronic forms of coronary heart disease, ACS, hypertension, etc.)

Keywords:post-infarction remodeling, left ventricle, segmental electrical activity.
