Results of the research of the state of chewing muscles in cheerleaders

During physical exertion, athletes experience heavy loads. It has a significant effect on the bite, since cheerleader athletes in most cases strongly clench their jaws during jumps. The prevalence of pathology and injuries of the maxillofacial region varies depending on the frequency of physical activity. The study involved 50 people who were divided into 2 groups depending on their professional sports experience. A 4-channel electromyograph "Neuro-MVP" was used to study the neuromuscular system of the masticatory muscles. All the results obtained indicate that constant physical exertion has a significant impact on changes in the dental system of cheerleader athletes. An increase in pathological changes in the maxillofacial region is observed with an increase in the sports professional experience of cheerleaders.
