Identification of risk factors for allergic rhinitis in children of different ages living in the Central Federal District

Allergic pathologies of various nature occur in 25-30% of children. Allergic rhinitis (AR) is one of the most common diseases in children. The study was conducted in five independent territories in the Central Federal District. The total population of children was 361281 children, and the number of children diagnosed with AR was 6757 people. Epidemiological parameters were assessed including relative risk and odds ratio. According to the highest chance of the risk factor realization, the age differentiation of the population into four age groups was carried out: children from birth to 5 years old, children 6-7 years old, 8-12 years old and children over 13 years old. In each specific area, an increase in AR occurs under the influence of various risk factors specific to a particular area, ignorance of which leads to an increase in the total number of patients with AR, the number of children with late diagnoses, as well as a decrease in the quality of life of patients and their families, which has significant socio-economic consequences.
