Varicose veins of the pelvis (VVT) at the present stage of medical development is of great relevance due to the polyethological structure of pathology, in the development of which a large number of factors are important, however, the exact pathogenetic mechanisms of varicose transformation of gonadal veins and intrabasic venous plexuses have not yet been determined. VBVT has a non-specific clinical picture, which makes it difficult to diagnose the disease in a timely manner. Imaging methods are of crucial importance for the detection and differential diagnosis of HBV, among which the leading place is given to ultrasound of the pelvic veins. Invasive techniques (pelvic vein scintigraphy, phlebography with contrast, laparoscopy) are used in unclear cases and with ambiguous results of noninvasive imaging. Laboratory diagnostic methods currently do not have high diagnostic significance in relation to the detection of HBV, but the search for modern and effective methods of diagnosing this disease continues.

Keywords:varicose veins of the pelvis, pelvic varicose veins, pelvic venous fullness syndrome.
