ANALYSIS OF THE QUALITY OF TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION OF IT PROJECTS USING THE ONLINE SURVEY METHOD

The article is devoted to the consideration and analysis of the problems faced by the creators and users of technical documentation in the field of IT projects. We conducted a survey of 121 technical specialists using an online survey method. By analyzing the collected responses, we gained a detailed understanding of the profile of the survey participants: the majority of respondents are software developers, technical writers, and project managers. The age of the respondents varies from 20 to 40 years, their professional work experience ranges from 1 to 20 years, and these specialists work mainly in companies with more than 10 employees. The following problems have been identified: the quality of technical documentation, as a rule, does not meet user expectations, the documentation is often outdated, and the specialists who develop it do not have enough time or resources to maintain its quality or relevance. This indicates a need to review and improve standards and methodologies for developing technical documentation. Despite the existing documentation tools used by respondents, many problems with working with documentation have not been resolved.
