Age-specific coping and the relationship between age and strategies of coping behavior

The article presents a review of studies for the period 2007-2017, the purpose of which was to study the relationship between the choice of preferred coping strategies and age; a brief analysis of the authors' approaches to the consideration of age-related features of coping behavior in adulthood (in the range from 20 to 60 years); the features of current research areas of coping in foreign and domestic psychology. Most modern researchers believe that coping changes under the influence of the age factor, but experimental studies do not always confirm this. Recent studies have revealed common patterns in the dynamics of the structure of coping: the most productive is the period of early and middle adulthood; late adulthood and more Mature age are perceived as a period of transition from active to passive forms of coping.
