The Epoch of Postmodernism or Global Transnational Modernity?

The article is devoted to the problem of postmodernism as a relatively new phenomenon on the history’s cultural horizon. The author introduces the reader into the context of the ongoing for more than half a century discussion, that has been developed around stunning attitudes of philosophy of postmodernism, which turns to be an alternative to the philosophy of classical modernism. The author examines the phenomenon of postmodernism in the paradigm of the World’s political history and points out to geopolitical changes of the 20th century, when Russia was in the very heart of it, and then after the collapse of the Communist rule in 1991 oriented itself on restoration of country’s historical and cultural identity.
