In late modern period, all the basic concepts of labor have emerged. The foundations of late modern period culture formed a special attitude to work. Modern culture is built on the other foundations. Nevertheless, the concepts of late modern period labor have become part of the new attitude to work inherent in modern culture. The article considers the main labor concepts developed in political economy (A. Smith, D. Ricardo), analyzes the philosophical concepts devoted to the work of H. Hegel, K. Marx and researches of sociologists (M. Weber, V. Sombart and E. Durkheim) of the place of labor in a capitalist society. In modern history culture, the concepts presented are integrated into a new understanding of work.
