Li Mengdie   (Postgraduate, Far Eastern Federal University (Vladivostok))

The author uses the oil painting of a Chinese contemporary artist Yu Xiaodong as an object of research. His main theme of creativity was circulating around religion. Most of the works are devout and reverent believers who worship deities or small landscapes of temples. If we carefully study the paintings of Yu Xiaodong, we find that it perfectly combines the charm of traditional Chinese paintings with special oil painting techniques. His works also abound in the rich Tibetan religion and culture. We can say that he is an outstanding artist who combines several complex elements in his work.
