The role of codes of ethics in professionalizing social work in the United States and Russia

The article examines the main trends in the professionalization of social work through the development of ethics in the United States and post-Soviet Russia. The relevance of the analysis of the ethical foundations of modern helping professions is due to the dynamic development of society and the need for a philosophical understanding of the value profile of the social worker profession in a multicultural space. Due to the sharp changes in the key standards in the ethical codes of the helping professions in the post-Soviet period, has changed the very meaning-making activities of the social worker - this has created difficulties in understanding by the profession of their own self-actualization and high risk of reducing the quality of specialists services to the population.
