The article discusses the actual problem of acculturation of Chinese and Indian students in the situation of their possible educational migration to Russia, as well as the role of heterostereotypes in the structure of their ethnic identity. The experience of studying the age-related personal characteristics of Indian and Chinese students in the aspect of their relationship to Russia (heterostereotypes) was conducted on the basis of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (India, new Delhi) and The Institute of foreign languages of the Shenyang Polytechnic University (China, Shenyang). The results of the study indicate heterostereotypes of positive orientation towards Russia in both study groups. The presented results can serve as a certain reference point for psychological support of the process of acculturation of foreign students in higher education.
