Dramaturgy by Dmitry Bogoslavsky (based on the play “The love of people”)

Modern young writers are actively replenishing their theatrical repertoire with their experimental works. The authors of the article focus on the play by Dmitry Bogoslavsky – the winner of the Debut Prize for 2012 and 2013 in the nomination “Dramaturgy” – “The Love of People”. The work tells of human relations that exist behind the facade of unsightly life. It depicts how a large-scale human tragedy arises from a “mundane” reality. The young playwright explores different versions of love feelings, in particular, love as an attack, as a disease that does not pass until the end, until it leads to trouble. The play ends wildly, but it has volume, depth and its own truth. “The Love of People” is a vivid example of the social “new drama”, the aesthetics of which are based on hyperrealism.
