The civilization essence of Russia in the works of modern domestic researchers

The article is devoted to the problem of ambiguity in the interpretation of the civilizational characteristics of Russia in the works of representatives of social philosophy of the XXI century. Some researchers adhere to the ideas according to which our country is an integral part of the civilizations of the West and the East. A noticeable place in modern scientific discourse is occupied by the position of a special civilizational path of Russia. The author concludes that the predominance in different periods of one of these approaches is directly related to the events in which Russia was involved in the foreign policy.
