As an art genre with rich cultural overtones and deep historical heritage, the cultural symbols embedded in Chinese traditional music have always been the focus of much attention in cultural studies and artistic circles. This article is an in-depth study of cultural symbols in traditional Chinese music based on a combination of semiotics, musicology and cultural studies. The relevance of this study depends on the existence and promotion of the artistic power of cultural symbols in traditional Chinese music. In the international arena, where cultural competition is also an important area for raising the international status of countries, it is important to achieve intercultural communication through cultural symbols unique to music, have a powerful impact on listeners, and create an identifiable national cultural icon that can be understood by anyone without translation. . Through the study of cultural symbols in Chinese traditional music, focusing on the five aspects of traditional symbols of festivals and holidays, traditional martial arts symbols, traditional diet symbols, linguistic symbols of Chinese characters and multicultural symbols, the essence of this study is to fully explore the cultural symbols in Chinese traditional music, show the cultural charm of Chinese traditional music and appreciate it. The aim of the research is to promote and convey the essence of Chinese traditional music and culture, and to form a strong cultural nation.
