THE ROLE OF CULTURE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PERSON'S ATTITUDE TO HIS APPEARANCE

The article is devoted to the study of the influence of modern culture of idealization and standardization of specific models of the appearance of men and women, as well as people of different age categories from the perspective of a psychocultural approach. The author presents the problems of social, labor and household discrimination faced by many people in different countries of the world, and, in addition, examines the mental aspect of the influence of all factors of aggressive imposition of images of "ideal" appearance on human life. It is concluded that the negative influence of a culture that denies the individualism of the human body and its image causes the development of various mental disorders and disorders, including eating disorders, dysmorphic phobia, a decrease in self-confidence, as well as the development of depression or other forms of social isolation.
