CIVILIZATION IDENTITY OF THE USA: REALITY AND PROSPECTS

The article covers the civilization identity of the USA and its influence on the national identities of other states as well. The comparative analysis of the existing civilization theories has been conducted and it was proposed to research the civilization world picture from the position of S.N. Eisenstadt’s theory of multiple modernities. This theory allowed to analyse the peculiarities of American identities inside the society and also the impact of the USA civilization identity onto the other societies. The prospects of the counterstand to the global “universal” western civilization have been demonstrated.
