The article presents the results of a study aimed at studying the peculiarities of type A behavior among students of higher educational institutions. The purpose of the study was to identify the relationship between personal characteristics, social adaptation, learning activities and the current state of students. 46 students participated in the study, of which 26 were classified as type "A" based on the "Type A Behavior Assessment Scale" methodology. To assess the current state, an author's questionnaire was used, including questions about changes in students' lives after admission to the university. The results of the study were indicators of social maladaptation of students with type A behavior. They are aimed at achieving high goals, but they do not cope well with the existing loads and tend to choose maladaptive ways out of stress.
